An introduction to identifying locations, followed by a three-round tournament on a custom map of Penn. Snacks from around the world.
The GeoGuessr club at the University of Pennsylvania. Members learn to identify locations from visual detail, play ranked games within the club, and compete against other universities.

Locations are worked out from visual evidence: road markings, bollards, licence plates, vegetation, signage, and which side of the road traffic uses. These details can be learned, and most members improve quickly.
One region is covered in detail each month, including bollards, licence plates, camera generation, and vegetation.
Ranked play within the club, so members are matched against others at a similar level. Participation is optional.
Quizbowl-style geography nights with a buzzer, and a photo-guessing challenge using pictures of campus taken by members. Neither requires GeoGuessr experience.
The club fields players against other universities, including Princeton and Brown. The league has four skill divisions, so beginners are matched with players at their own level. Tryouts are optional, and membership does not require competing.
General body meetings run weekly from September 14. Everything else is optional.
